With the New Year only just beginning, many people have made or are making their New Year’s resolutions for the year ahead, but how many of them will be as important as delivering a cleaner and greener environment?
Veolia South Downs is encouraging residents to pledge their New Year’s resolution to reducing, reusing and recycling waste that you produce.
Allan Key, General Manager for Veolia South Downs commented: “The 3R’s should increasingly be a top priority, the more products we can reduce, reuse and recycle - the more we can reduce carbon emissions and reduce the impact of climate change.” He added: “Please get involved and make reducing, reusing and recycling a resolution you can keep all year round.
When taking down your tree please recycle at your local Household Waste Recycling Site for details of your nearest site, and opening times visit: www.veolia.co.uk/southdowns/recycling-sites or call 01273 511324.
In Brighton & Hove you can also recycle your real Christmas trees at an additional 20 sites across the city - these extra sites will be open until 23 January.
