Martin Benson, HWRS’s Manager for Veolia explains: “We aim to provide the best possible service to all our customers and changing to winter opening times will maximise opportunities for people to use the sites. We have also found that during the winter period there are very few visitors in the last hour of the day.
“We strive to be as consistent as possible however, at a few sites opening times will still vary. We would urge people to visit our website at www.veolia.co.uk/southdowns/recycling-sites or call 01273 511324 to see what winter hours their local site will be operating.“
Veolia manages East Sussex and Brighton & Hove’s 14 Household Waste Recycling Sites as part of an integrated waste management service which also includes composting and recovery. Currently the Household Waste Recycling Sites and recovering energy at the ERF diverts around 97% of waste away from landfill.
